Citation capture and publication
The turl.ca-specific rules for copying citation evidence and deliberately publishing an immutable capture version.
Owner-only citation capture
When you request citation capture, you ask turl.ca to fetch and retain bounded evidence from a public, unauthenticated destination for your account. You must have a lawful basis to make that copy. turl.ca does not bypass logins, paywalls, access controls, noarchive, or bot challenges.
Capture results may be partial, blocked, unsupported, or failed. Citation capture is not a durable archive, records-management service, or retention guarantee.
Public publication attestation
Before publishing a capture, you must affirm that you have the rights or permission needed to reproduce and publicly share the captured third-party material. The current recorded attestation is capture-publication-v1. Publication exposes only the selected immutable version through the isolated content origin; it does not make later versions public automatically.
You remain responsible for the material you choose to publish and for responding to rights-holder requests. turl.ca may retire or remove access to a capture after expiry, owner action, moderation, or a valid takedown request.
Retirement and third parties
Retirement stops turl.ca from serving its retained objects. It cannot recall copies already downloaded or cached elsewhere, and it cannot erase a separate unlisted Cloudflare URL Scanner record governed by Cloudflare. See the privacy addendum and abuse/takedown page.
